Survived Christmas for the new year

Christmas Eve..came and went. Not without over spending, a ton of food, too much sugar, pure exhaustion and a lack of sleep!

So, in short, we had 30 something people over for dinner, had too many pounds of seafood to count, about 5 courses of food, many options for desert and a few complainers..not cooked enough for me, no sauce on his pasta, she wont eat this…blah blah.. For the most part, everyone was well behaved. I think the kids enjoyed their gifts, but I wouldn’t know really, most didn’t say thank you.

I’m still thinking Costa Rica was much more enjoyable..might have to make that a permanent consideration. Below is a photo of the “zuppa di mare” that is my husband’s speciality for Christmas Eve. It was delicious, really. Everyone looks forward  to eating as much of this as possible. Heck, we only get it once a year…i’m going to have to talk him into making a few more times a year..will make getting away for Christmas easier!
